Delicious! People told me that Sweet Potato Pie is better than pumpkin pie, but I didn't believe them until I tried this recipe. It was amazingly good. I modified the recipe like the reviews suggested, by using evaporated milk, lemon juice, and extra spices. I think this will become a new Christmas family tradition.

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread

I tried mixing the dough in my Kitchen Aid, but the dough turned out very dry and crumbly. Even after I baked it, the bread was extremely dry and crumbly on the outside. The middle actually tasted really yummy. I will make this again, but I will make the dough by hand.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Good, simple soup; not my all-time favorite (a little boring) but I will make it again. My kids LOVED it, and that is saying a lot. :-)

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

This pie is absolutely delicious. What I don't understand is why so many people have fiddled with the original recipe. It is wonderful the way it is! I made the pie exactly as the recipe said to, and it was the yummiest apple pie I have had in a long time. I was worried about pouring the caramel sauce over the lattice topping, because I thought it wouldn't sweeten the apples enough, but I was very wrong! First of all, the top crust tasted so good with the caramel baked onto it, and the apples were very sweet, with little chunks of caramel in each bite. I will keep making this recipe for years to come!

Cheesy Italian Tortellini

This tastes delicious, but cooking it for 7-8 hours in the slow cooker is way too long. My sauce starting burning around the edges, and the sauce seemed overcooked. Next time I make this recipe, I will only cook it for 3 hours on LOW in my slow cooker.

Pauline Werner's Beef Stew

I was NOT impressed with this recipe. First of all, after cooking it according to the directions for the length of time specified, the potatoes and carrots were still raw! Gross! We couldn't eat it! I had to increase the temperature and cook it for an extra 1-2 hours, and then we had it for leftovers the next day. It was better, of course, with the veggies cooked, but... we still found it very bland and unimpressive. I will not make this recipe again.

Easy Apple Crisp with Honey

I was not impressed with this recipe. I have had many better crisps in my life. I used Granny Smith apples, and they were still a little crunchy after the 25 minute baking time. If I do use this recipe again, I will try Golden Delicious apples, instead. I will probably just look around for a better recipe.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Muffins

Good muffins! I did change the recipe a little bit, though. I added 1 tsp. of cinnamon and 1 tsp. of vanilla to the batter, used 1/2 cup melted butter instead of the oil, and used half and half instead of the milk. The muffins were very flavorful and moist, contrary to the reviews I read from those who made the recipe as is. My version is definitely not low fat, but boy is it yummy!
