Pizza Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
This was pretty good! Here's what I did: I browned 1 lb. ground beef in the skillet, along with pepperoni slices that I quartered. Once nice & brown, drained the skillet, put the meat back in, added in 1 tsp. olive oil and chopped onion, 1 tbsp. dried oregano,1 tbsp. red pepper flakes, kosher salt to taste, 1 tsp. ground black pepper, and 4 cloves of chopped garlic. Let that sautee a few minutes. Then, I stirred in 16 oz. of jarred Ragu Pizza Quik. Mixed well and let it simmer while I cooked the pasta. Once pasta was done, I drained it and added it to the skillet with the pizza mixture. Added in 4 tbsp. of milk and stirred again. In my baking dish, I put half the pasta/meat mixture, a generous helping of Kraft pizza style shredded cheese, and then added the rest of the pasta/meat mixture. I topped with another generous helping of mozaarella, and then topped it with whole pepperoni slices. Finally, I took a block of romano and lightly grated it over the pepperoni. Baked for 30 minutes til bubbly and brown and it was very tasty.

Very good! I didn't have any parmesan but they were still very good...hubby wouldn't stop eating them before dinner so there weren't too many on the dinner plate.

Restaurant-Style Hashbrown Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2009
I made some changes but this was a great guide. First thing I did was brown a tube of breakfast sausage and put it in a bowl. Added in, I used one can cream of chicken and one can condensed cheddar cheese. Mixed this together with 1 cup of sour cream, 1 stick of softened butter, and a package of simply potatoes. Added in some pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and about 1 cup of shredded four cheese mix (Kraft blend). Mixed it all up, and smoothed out in a very well greased glass baking dish. Poured more cheese on top, a few dollups of melted butter and it's in the oven. DELICIOUS! A few sprinkles of crispy bacon on top when it's done would be divine!

This was fantastic! I used Bisquick instead of white flour and 1% milk and it was fabulous!!!! I'll always use this recipe for sausage gravy - better than I've ever had in a restaurant!!

Very tasty! Made it with yellow & red bell peppers - left the onions in bigger pieces, too. Left out the MSG. Will make again!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
Great recipe. I like to add in a little parmigiano reggiano (grated) to the ricotta & egg mixture, along with some kosher salt & dried parsley. It truly is fabulous! I also omitted the fennel seeds (not a fan), and the sugar. I used fresh basil leaves, and used kosher salt instead of table salt. Also, while your sauce is simmering, put your lasagna noodles (just regular - not the "no boil" or anything)in dish & cover with the hottest tap water you can get. Let it sit for 20 minutes. Then drain, and follow recipe. Saves you from boiling! FABULOUS! It will not disappoint.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2009
I love this dish - a girlfriend made it for me one night when I was in town visiting, and I liked it so much that I went home and made it the next night for my family! I'm on WW, and needed to make it friendly...so, I only use 1 tbsp. olive oil, I use turkey sausage and season it with basil, red pepper flakes and salt, and I use crushed tomatoes and fat free half & half. Going this route makes it 7 points for a 1 cup serving!!!

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

I've got this in the crockpot right now. I brown the meat in the skillet, then add in chopped onion and 3 garlic cloves. Drain the grease, and then I add it to the crockpot with the rest of the ingredients. Also, I add in a can of drained corn, and about 3 tbsp. jalapenos. Cook on low all day and serve with cornbread. My family loves this meal!

Skillet Meatloaf

This was "so-so". I read a lot of reviews, and being afraid of it being bland, I used pizza sauce instead of tomato soup. Perhaps I'd like it better with tomato soup - not sure. Anyway, this was not our favorite, and don't think I'll be making again. Thanks anyway!

Delicious Baked Chicken Kiev

Reviewed: May 26, 2008
We like this pretty well. I didn't have corn flakes, so I used crushed corn chips. Very crispy! I used chopped garlic in my butter mixture. I also salted & peppered the chicken breasts after pounding them, and also added a little dried basil. Next, I secured with toothpicks, dunked in egg beaters, and then coated in crushed corn chips. I melted more butter, added in more chopped garlic, and used that to grease my baking dish. Turned out very well - even my picky kids ate it.

Fantastic - my picky 4 year old LOVED it. I used a real onion in place of onion powder, added 1 tsp. white vinegar, along with 1 tsp. chili powder (per another viewer's suggestion). Very good!

Add a little lemon juice, a few leaves of chopped basil and you've got one heck of a meal. I also added grilled chicken to the meal by chopping it into bite size pieces and mixing it in with the spaghetti. For an even lighter fare, try Rozini brand noodles for an extra fiber kick

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2007
I made this again tonight but this time, I didn't add anything but the margarine, Italian mix & the chicken. WOW - the chicken browned up and by the time I added the soup and a block of cream cheese, it turned a golden brown color and smelled incredible! Served over egg noodles, and once again, picky 4 year old gobbled it up!

Easy Ground Beef Stroganoff

This made my house smell wonderful, and I thought it was very tasty. Hubby only liked it "so-so" and he said it was a glorified version of Hamburger Helper. I, personally thought it was very tasty and it hit the spot. I did mine in the crockpot after browning the meat and sauteeing the onions & garlic. Also took the advice of another poster and used cream of mushroom instead of canned mushrooms. Also added in sour cream at the end. Didn't use the water & flour - and it turned out very well.

Very yummy - full of flavor. I used thin chicken cutlets and it turned out great. Also used egg beaters in place of the egg, and took the suggestion of another reviewer of browning it in minimal oil, and then baking on a broiler pan (aluminum foil underneath to make clean up easy)til done.

This was pretty good. I used sour cream instead of mayo, taco seasoning instead of the chili powder, and Barbecue Fritos instead of tortilla chips. Hubby is now on his 3rd bowl. It would be really good with some refried beans and put inside a warm tortilla!

I thought it tasted great but I only gave it 3 stars because it just sat in my stomach for hours - I ended up so sick and (pardon me) belching that taste for hours after. My hubby didn't like it at all and threw it out =( Guess this one won't be in the rotation.
