Making Bread
About this Cook
I want to travel the earth and taste new things.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite thing to cook is soup. There is so much you can do with soup! I also enjoy baking, but it can't take me all day.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I also cooked with my Mom and Grandmas growing up. I remember every Christmas my Grandma got all her grandchildren together and would make Christmas cookies together. I want to pass that on.
My cooking triumphs
I learned how to make bread. Grandma would wake up every couple of mornings and make bread and it took me moving to Bosnia to finally figure it out. For whatever the reason my bread just never turned out even when Grandma and I would make it side by side.
My cooking tragedies
Oh-there are so many. The best one was the year I was making a chocolate bowl to put chocolate covered strawberries in for Christmas. I had a rather large bowl of chocolate sitting on the table while waiting for the first layer of chocolate bowl to harden (Thankfully we live in WI and it was about 20 below outside so my wait was short!). Anyway, I had my bottom done and suddenly my bowl of the melted chocolate hit the floor. This happened two years ago and I am still finding chocolate around the kitchen. Needless to say I was late for Christmas that year while trying to clean up.

Rhubarb Cake I
I thought this was awesome. It was my first time cooking with rhubarb so I followed the recipe exactly. I should have taken the advice of the other posts and used far more rhubarb, but there will be a next time for sure!

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs
This recipe is yummy!!! I like to add green pepper to my sauce though. I also add a lot of cheese to my meatballs. I love the salty flavor it gives the meat. Very yummy! I'm going to try to duplicate this sauce with my fresh tomatoes next week. We shall see! Thanks :)

Easiest Eggplant
Holy cow! This was so good! I used 1/2 packet of something like shake and bake for my seasoned bread crumbs. I thought this made it taste wonderful. My kids loved it. I think that using real mayo is key. I also put some olive oil on the bottom of my pan and flipped the eggplant in the middle of cooking. I already bought several more eggplant to cook this way and have plans to put some in my garden for next year. Thank you!!!
