About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
chicken dishes,pasta dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmothers green bean casserole and carrot jello on holidays.my other grandmothers potato salad in the summer.I come from a mostly English family so there are no really big food traditions!I have always thought I should have been born into an Italian family or something.I don't like bland food!
My cooking tragedies
no major tragedies, just maybe trying to get certain dishes just right(like mac and cheese).

Tanya's Snickerdoodles
I made one batch of these and they were nothing like snickerdoodles should be.putting milk in the dough made them more like cake than cookies.you should never put water or milk in a cookie dough recipe unless you want cakey cookies.omit the milk and the recipe is fine.

Shrimp Scampi III
Just tried this recipe for dinner tonight. It was very good.I did not have wine so I used chicken broth.I added some fresh mushrooms I had on hand and also added lemon pepper seasoning.I served it over wheat farfalle pasta.

Peanut Beef Stir-Fry
this is a great recipe.it is a favorite in our house.I have made this recipe with steak, chicken, shrimp, and pork.it all works.for veggies I use stir fry veggie mix, broccoli,or a pepper and onion veggie mix.I serve over brown rice or wheat penne pasta.I will also use natural peanut butter and add a little extra.I want to try this recipe sometime with cashew butter instead of peanut butter.might be good!
