Broccoli, Rice, Cheese, and Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
I did make adjustments to the recipe after reading the reviews but was still not impressed with this recipe. I don't think I will make this one again.

Red Potato Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
A very simple quick and tasty dish. I sliced my potatoes as you would for scalloped and they still took 45 min. to cook thoroughly. I used creamy Italian dressing and added sliced onions and mushrooms. I will nuke my potatoes for a few minutes the next time because the chicken was done before the potatoes. I am anxious to try different dressings with this recipe also. Thanks for another keeper.

German Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
I have been making this exact recipe for years and it has always turned out perfect. The german chocolate is a must. I use aluminum foil pans, I find it easier to remove the fudge from them. I put nuts in only half the batter so my allergic family members can also enjyoy this wonderful fudge.

Slow Cooker Ham

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
I mde this again for the second time and an hour before the ham was done I drained most of the juice from the pot and thickened it with corn starch to have sauce to serve with the ham. I also added some baked beans to the pot. My family said it was the best ham & beans they have ever had. This is sooo good and it couldn't be any easier to make. Try it, especially you busy working moms. I think you'll be glad you did.

Chop Suey

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
Very good and so simple and quick to make, every working mom should try this one. It will not yield enough for 4. It is just hubby and I and there was not a full serving left so definitely double this recipe . I did add 1 Tbls. of soy sauce and was glad I did because we were still adding at the table. I will try this with chicken and ground beef for a little variety too. Thanks DKOSKO for another keeper.

Apple Cake V

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
This cake is just OK. I have tried a couple of the apple cake recipes and have been disappointed and I think it is me. I want my apples in a pie. I wanted to rate this according to the way I felt about it but try it if you like your apples in a cake, you probably won't be disappointed with this recipe.

Baked Haddock

This is a very good recipe. The only disappointment was the bottom was soggy. I will try a pan with a rack next time. If I can solve that one problem this recipe would rate an even higher rating. Thanks for another keeper

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
Soooooooo good. I used fresh broccoli and a hand blender to process half the ingredients after the broccoli was cooked. Used half the processed cheese food and half cheddar cause that is what I had. Left out the water added the corn starch to a cup of the broth. Added the cheese when soup was done and stirred until it was all melted. I will definitely make this one again. This one is a keeper forr sure.

Italian Breaded Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
These were wonderful. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because the measurments were way off. I used 1 large egg and 1 1/2 Tbls. milk. Halved the amounts of breadcrumb, cheese and parsley and had enough for 6 boneless chops. They never made it to the oven, I finished them up in the skillet. So tasty and moist. This is definitely a keeper.

Sweet Potato Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
So easy, I did add 1 tsp. nutmeg and used fresh sweet potato's. Rolled the dough out into 3 circles and made them in the shape of cresent rolls. Put a dz. in the freezer for Thanksgiving next week. Nice way to get some veggies into ppl., like hubby, who shies away from all veggies except the white potato. Thanks for another great recipe.

Blueberry Streusel Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
Very good coffee cake. I did reduce the baking powder to 2 teasp. and lightly flour the blueberries before adding to the cake mixture as other reviewers had suggested. I put it in an 8" x 8" baking pan and used some of the mixture in a six cup muffin pan. The muffins took 20 min. baking time and the cake took 50 min. They smelled so good while baking, I had a hard time waiting for them to cool off enough before trying one. Delicious. Thanks so much for the recipe Eunice. Update: If you want to know how to ruin a good thing. Put this cake in a tube pan, it will start to burn before it is done baking. So much for my great ideas.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
A keeper for sure. The only thing I will do differently next time is to reduce the recipe in 1/2. I prefer my turkey not to sit immersed in that amount of liquid while it is cooking. I definitely thought the turkey was more moist & tasty done this way.
