Wonderful recipe. I made this for a party this summer, and they were a HUGE hit, and I have been requested to make them many times since then. I like margaritas with triple sec, so I use 3/4 tequila and 1/4 triple sec, sprite and follow the recipe as instructed. These are good the next day too.

In response to the salt issue, I used salted almonds, and omitted the salt from the recipe entirely. They turned out great! I did let them chill in the fridge for about 2 hrs. before baking, and tossed them in sugar 3X. I used my hand blender to finely chop up the almonds, and it worked perfectly.
