I work 40 hrs outside of the home. I've always been jealous of the 'homemaker' since that is not an option for me. I am a mother of 2, one is 23 yrs old & loves video games. He is also a full time college student majoring in petroleum engineering for 3 years now. He is a part time DJ & also works at an energy corp all at the same time. He's handsome, smart & witty. I am very proud of him. My other is 7 yrs old & I think is a budding singer. She loves animals, swimming, dancing and playing Nintendo DS. She's beautiful, kind and smart. She's my biggest help around the house & in the kitchen. She enjoys it. Also makes me proud. My husband is a painter who is very witty & skilled at his craft and loves TV, video games and classic cars, namely 'Chevy Luv' pick ups. He has his original Chevy Luv that he had at 17 yrs old and he's over 40 now. He hopes to restore it one day when finances permit. My favorite holidays are Halloween, Thanksgiving & Christmas. I love quiet 'me-time', a good movie
My favorite things to cook
I am a self taught cake decorator and have done many adventurous cakes for friends and family. I make cakes and frostings from scratch. My favorite dinner things to cook are oven dinners. Roast and casseroles because that's usually the less stressful, less messy way to go while usually the best tasting. Comfort food. I would like to dab more in seafood tho. That's basically all I can't cook or haven't tried unless you count Gordman's fishsticks :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Probably birthdays. I am the designated cake decorator for my entire family..not so much the adults but for their kids. Every now and again I'll do the parent's cake depending on the mood. That's just too many birthdays for me since I have a full time job too. I love that they all love my cakes so much and I always love that big eyed' Ohhh!' factor when they see the finished product.
My cooking triumphs
Making 3-d cakes including all flavors, filling, curds, icings. I am also proud of my luscious lasagna and my 'most-incredible meatloaf'.
My cooking tragedies
Cinnamon rolls and breads. I can't do it. I try and try. I haven't attempted with a bread machine tho. That will be tried one day cuz I'm not giving up without a fight. I am hankering for a real State Fair Cinnamon roll without standing in line 30 minutes during that one day ea year the fair is here and in the 100 degree weather while paying 6.00 for each one.
