My Sweetheart and I
About this Cook
Newly married mom/wife of 5 beautiful children. Married man of my dreams June 2009. I now have children that range in age from 3 to 21 years of age :-) Am having a blast "starting over" as everyone keeps calling it. My hubby had a 3 and 9 yr old who I now get to cook for and have them help me. Am having a blast with it all. Love this site, it's been a big help with new recipes for the younger kids since it's been a while since I cooked for that age group. Thanks to all who post recipes!!!
My favorite things to cook
I love to try out any new recipe. I might not get it right the first time, but I just keep trying till I do. I also love to create recipes of my own. Hopefully one day I will have my own cookbook to pass on to my kids and grandkids.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I guess my favorite cooking traditions would have to be the cookie baking at Christmas and the big dinner baking that we do at Easter and Thanksgiving. Our home is open then for anyone who want to come to dinner for those holidays. Christmas we bake cookies of all kinds for everyone and always have to many for us at home as well...lol
My cooking triumphs
I finally at the age of 38 mastered a lemon meragine pie. I was so proud of myself.
My cooking tragedies
The 6 lemon meragine pies that were a flop before I finally got it right.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies
OMGosh, I am not the biggest chocolate fan, but do like an occasional brownie. I made these and my family went totally nuts over them!!! They were gone BEFORE dinner. I made another batch for church. It's almost 3:30 AM, just got up to get a drink and caught the hubby in them....half the pan is gone. I am now waiting on pans 3 and 4 to come out of the oven. LOL UPDATE: For Thanksgiving I made 2 more batches. One of them I used a cup of andes candies broken up instead of chocolate chips. OMGosh they were awesome. If you like mint and chocolate you have to try this! These brownies are the bomb I wont use any other recipe for a brownie. I have been ask to make them for church and for the school teachers party.

Egg Noodles
I have made egg noodle for years using my grandmas recipe. I decided to try something new. This recipes is so good. The next day the noodles are just as good as the first, they arent all mushy like most noodles get. I will be using this recipe from now on. Sorry Granny.
