About this Cook
Since I work full time, I'm always looking for ways to cook dinner quick, delicious and easy. On weekends, when I have time, I like cooking from scratch and also on Sundays, cook 3 meals to last for the week.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking, especially cakes and bread. I also love cooking hearty and healthy food. I love experimenting with different types of foods.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother always made soups from scratch, just throw everything in the pot and it came out great. The problem though, is she never remembered what she threw in. Also, our favorite dish was macaroni and beans. Simple dish, but we always love it.
My cooking triumphs
When my children were small, I always cooked a lot of food for their birthday parties. Always experimenting on different dishes. I learned how to cook Spanish, Asian, and Southern cooking.
My cooking tragedies
My cooking tragedy was the first time I was frying chicken legs in a pan of 1/2 inch of oil. My husband (boyfriend) at the time, cracked up laughing and ask what was I doing? So I told him, and then he showed me the correct way to fry chicken. From then on, the cookbooks came out.

Split Pea and Ham Soup II
This came out excellent, very tasty and I added celery and basil. I am definitely making this again. I have left overs, which, I will be taking for lunch.

Cream Cheese Pound Cake I
Very good recipe, very simple, I made two loaves of pound cake, and everyone love it. One thing for sure, a very heavy cake to hold. Compare it to a store brand and found theirs a lot lighter. But still the same, it was excellent, will definitely pass the recipe on. thanks
