Basic Ham and Bean Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
This is a very good recipe. It reminds me of a favorite soup I ate as a kid. I "degassed" the beans as some other reviewers suggested and it worked like a charm. I also added the salt after cooking just to be on the safe side.

Olive Salad for Muffalettas

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
Very authentic NOLA flavor! Just a little too much of an onion aftertaste for me when eating it straight. Hopefully when I put it on the Muffaletta sammich with the ham, salami and provolone it won't be as noticeable. I think next time I'll use 1/2 a small red onion or just rinse the onion with water before mixing it in to take the edge off.

Easy Quiche

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
I thought there was too much cheese in this recipe. I told my husband this and he responded, "Is there such a thing as too much cheese?" Well, personal preference I guess, but I like it to be more eggy. I also added a little onion powder, garlic powder and salt for extra flavor.

Turkey Pot Pie

WOW! This is the best pot pie I've ever eaten! The only thing I added was about a 1/2 teaspoon of salt. You'll ooh and ahh while you eat it.

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
The white sauce in this recipe is absolutely wonderful! I did not change a thing except instead of using chicken I used leftover Thanksgiving turkey. Too bad it's not really diet conscious. But who are we kidding? Getting fat never tasted so good!

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2006
I won't give 5 stars for any recipe because there's always room for improvement, but this recipe is da bomb! As some suggested I added 2 eggs and italian seasoning to the meat mixture and used half pork and half chuck as well as some dried CRUSHED RED PEPPER. Now that is a-one-a-spicy-a-meat-a-ball-a! The mild sauce with this meat mix is good harmony. My husband's a tough spaghetti critic but loved this one.
