White Chili with Ground Turkey

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
While this is delicious, it is WAY TOO soupy. Next time I will start with less than half of the recommended broth and go from there.

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
DEEEEEELISH!! The changes suggested by others make this sooo good. I replaced beef broth and flour with gravy mix w/1 c water and added 1/4c Worcestershire sauce. As a matter of personal taste, I didn't mash the carrotts (I just added them as a layer over the beef) and I added mushrooms and Paula Deen's house seasoning to the beef mix. I also added heavy cream to the potatoes. I would suggest to everyone to make the potatoes whatever way you like your mashies. I thought the onion and cheddar cheese were excellent in the potatoes. I will be making this again, and again, and again.......

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
I make this cake all the time for parties and holidays. It is absolutely awesome! I suggest using mini chocolate chips. Also, I always seem to have to bake this longer than the recipe calls for - usually an extra 15-20 minutes.

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
This salad is fantastic! My husband begs me to make it every week. I didn't change the recipe at all except for buying the sesame seeds already toasted and a cilantro paste - both are a real time saver. The dressing on this is really great.

Crunchy Romaine Toss

Reviewed: May 26, 2009
Fantastic salad - provided you make a few changes suggested by others. Definitely cut the sugar in half. I'm a major sweet tooth, and even this was too much. I also toasted the ramen noodles by using PAM spray - turned out just as well as using butter. I also thought this recipe made too much dressing, so I just doubled the salad part - PERFECT!

Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2007
I have to say, I was quite skeptical about this recipe. The ingredients didn't appeal to me and the picture didn't either. But I thought it was something my husband would like and all the rave reviews had me curious. Well, I'm soooo glad I tried this - AWESOME!!! I made it exactly as the recipe states and it was really hearty and delicious. We ate half of it as soon as it was finished! It's only a few days later and I'm already running to the store to buy the ingredients to make this again! This is a keeper!!!

Golden Rum Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
This was a huge hit over the holidays - especially given the accolades were from Italians who literally grew up on rum cake! The cake was simple to make (I followed the recipe exactly), but I did have trouble with the glaze at first. I over-cooked it thinking it had to get thick like an icing. So I tried again and stopped cooking after 5 minutes and added the rum - it was perfect! I used Myers Dark Rum - everyone loved it!!

Double Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
Simply the best Bruschetta I have ever made! It got rave reviews from everyone over the holidays. I would definitely suggest letting it marinate over night - the longer the better. I also took someone's suggestion to put the cheese on the bread and bake it first - then everyone can put on their own amount of bruschetta. Everyone agreed that was the better way to go. This really is easy to make - I also definitely suggest using fresh basil and buying the bread the day you are serving it as well.
