I did not put the butter sauce on it/in it... I opted to use it for strawberry shortcake instead. I cut fresh berries and sprinkled w/ sugar to make a syrup & had it over the cake... I think it was delicious texture. I even think this cake would withstand a milky syrup like w/ tres leches cake.

oohhh yeah, this is good. the first batch i didn't have limes, so i used some margarita mix i had on hand, then the 2nd batch i put some apple flavored vodka - and i like it mucho! i think the pinch of salt kicks up the watermelon flavor a notch.

I actually like the use of cinnamon in savory dishes, (found a lot in Greek cuisine) and I enjoyed the faint flavor it left on this slow cooked pork carnitas. We used the pork for tacos one night, and added BBQ sauce to it for sandwiches the next. I thought this meat was exceptionally tasty! Don't be afraid to try the cinnamon in it, it really adds something interesting.
