Grew up in Wyoming - cattle country, so of course, I learned to love a good steak. Since the doctor said my cholesterol is high, I have been incorporating more vegetables, fruits and whole grains (like oats) into our meals. So, instead of eating the horse, I eat what the horse eats. Just kidding! I never ate horse that I am aware of. I have tried alligator once when in Florida and it was good. It was sweet. I also had snails once. Once is enough for me. That is one gourmet food I can leave alone.
My favorite things to cook
Minestrone Soup. I make it a quick and easy using a dehydrated mix as a base and then adding freshly chopped cabbage, and a can of kidney beans and some oregano and basil.
My cooking triumphs
Tofu Lasagna. My kids grew up thinking that all lasagna tasted like mine. When my son was at a friends, he asked, what is this? His friend answered, "lasagna". "No, it's not, my son replied!
