Yep, Maxine expresses my sentiments exactly.  Please don't hate me! I've never been one to watch sports.  I just don't enjoy football.  In fact, we weren't even home to watch the game that Sunday night.  But I must admit, I LOVED reading about the food everyone was fixing for their Super Bowl… MORE

My family always seems to serve food when we have company over. It doesn't matter whether they were invited or just showed up. It doesn't matter if they're just stopping by for a minute or two, staying the evening, or just dropping something off; they all are offered a drink and a snack. We… MORE

If only we were amoeba and could reproduce without the need of male and female. No need for marriage or the fragile tests of courtship. No misunderstanding between genders. No division during child rearing. No conflicts because of gender based decorating preferences. The malls might actually… MORE

What better day to celebrate Chocolate Lovers Month than Valentine's Day? I decided at the last minute I wanted to have a few people over tonight, so I sent out an e-mail invitation a couple of days ago. Here's what I wrote:          Are you planning on taking your "Valentine" out to eat on… MORE

Today is the day of the Big Game - the Super Bowl.   That means parties and noshie food and beer, to me.  Most of my friends know that football really isn't my thing.  But this year I decided not to let that get in the way of a good party - it's just an excuse to get together with friends and… MORE

Today is National Corn Chip Day!  The most famous of the corn chips, made by Frito Lay, come from our home state of Texas.  Legend has it that a man by the name of C. E. Doolin bought the recipe for fried strips of corn meal dough from a man on the streets of San Antonio...paid $100 for… MORE
