Spent an awesome day with my 13 year old son and my 6 year old grandson.  It is a cool, rainy day here in central-Missouri so we went to the book store.  My grandson is in Kindergarten so just learning to read -- so fun.  I got both boys a book and then we picked out books for the little… MORE

There is a reason that the Oddsmakers in Las Vegas love me so much and my more than slightly inaccurate prognostications last weekend were a prime example of why. After predicting (not publicly and indeed well after the fact) all four wildcard games correctly the previous weekend, I only got… MORE

It’s that time of year again. The playoffs have started in the National Food-ball League and this week it’s the Divisional Playoff Round. I have to admit that life got in the way of my previewing the Wild Card Round but when you think about, the dishes that were eliminated (Cincinnati Chili,… MORE

It was early on Saturday afternoon and I was at my son’s Full Ice Cross Ice Hockey Game watching a slightly more spread out version of little kid soccer (they fall down on skates) when my blackberry buzzed. It was my wife and she wanted me to know that it was snowing and she wanted to know… MORE

I love Christmas. It is my favorite time of the year. I love to sew. So, when I found a hanging kitchen towel to sew I was very excited. No cutting, just sewing.  It literally took me 10 minutes to sew these. Sewing the buttons took longer than the actual towel. I thought I would share this… MORE

First, I just want to whine a bit. I'm not used to hard physical labor. Let me tell you that moving a 12' x 6' x 4' pile of wood chips to various places in the yard is hard work! It's even worse because the chips were from the city, and these bad boys have a lot of three and four foot long… MORE

In the words of Luna Lovegood, "It's like having friends." What I would like to know is, what direction in learning to… MORE
