I haven't posted in a while; I've been busy and, for most of the last couple of days, on the wagon.  I've also gotten a crash-course in Harry Potter for the last week or so, as David wanted me to come with him to the newest movie.  There isn't much food in the house, other than what I'm going… MORE

Just finished enjoying a delicious ham dinner. Pretty simple. Just the ham, company potato's and corn. But it was very good on a cold day and ahead of the big Turkey Dinner coming and all the leftovers to follow. Now I have a ham bone for pea soup. Yummy.  Today I cleaned and organized my spice MORE

Just made some Parmesan Roasted Potatoes with Upside Down Meatloaf. My mom came across this recipe in the owners manual for the oven in the first home they ever bought and we love it. I get requests for this recipe constantly. My daughter will text me at school to make it for dinner. As I sit… MORE

I have really been grilling up a storm lately. I enjoy grilled veggies and grilled bread the most. A great way to use up day old deli bread is to lightly butter or oil each side, spread a thin layer of pesto, and add some fresh cracked pepper or another seasoning of your choice and grill.   I MORE

Came up with this "gourmet" burger for the grill last week. We don't grill outside after the time change so I wanted to do it up big. 1 1/4 lb. ground round 1/4 cup sliced green pitted olives 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon dried Italian herb mix 2 tablespoons red wine Thor MORE

I soaked some bone in pork chops in Salt Lick BBQ sauce.  Grilled to perfection!  Just bread and peas to go with it.  After the eating was done, I made some homemade salsa with chipotle, cayenne, onions, cilantro, and garlic.  The cayenne are from my garden, and I put four in the salsa, which… MORE

My husband went dove hunting this morning, so lunch was of course - dove!!  We cut jalapenos in half, fill them with cream cheese, then attach that to the dove with bacon wrapping and a toothpick.  Grilled them about 20 to 25 minutes.  They were perfect!  Bacon was crisp, cream cheese melted… MORE
