Husband took the laptop to work, so my only recipe a MORE

During the later part of the fall and into the winter, local area beets are readily available.  They are very easy to grow and stay crisp in a refrigerator for months.  I always love their sparkling colors and crispy taste.  This recipe guarantees that beets will be a big hit with MORE

There are actually two different styles of hot and sour soup. One is Northern China style, which usually looks white. The other is Southern China style, which usually looks red. What makes the Northern one hot is white pepper powder. What makes the Southern one hot is hot bean sauce. The one I a MORE

Yesterday we took the day off and headed to my favorite beach on St. Thomas, known as Lindqvist. The sand is soft and white, the water is warm, and it has a great view of of neighboring island, St. John. It's also one of the few beaches on our side of the island that doesn't have a resort or MORE

Since starting this blog, I have developed a routine. At some point during the day, I make my final decision on what I'm going to cook and post it to various places, letting anyone who might be interested know. I get home from work and start cooking. After dinner and clean-up, I write and post. MORE

With the first cold snap of the year, we have been in a comfort food mood all week! So, today, as I thought about what to make for dinner, the andouille sausage sitting in the fridge came to mind. What better use for a good Cajun sausage than red beans and rice! This recipe also uses brown r MORE
