If you are just starting to freezer cook, consider using already tested recipes from freezer cookbooks or freezer cooking web-sights. Usually their instructions are very specific about how to assemble the meal.   I find recipes in my favorite cookbooks, allrecipes.com and friend’s… MORE

My husband is what I'd call a moderately picky eater. He won't eat any mushrooms except for white. He thinks they're 'weird'. One time we ordered pizzas and he refused to try the one with crimini mushrooms. (Really, the way I look at it is if you can eat one kind of mushroom, surely you can at… MORE

I love food, all kinds of food and if I like something I want to eat it often.  The problem is some of the dishes are from a restaurant and that can get expensive.  So, if I find something I really like but don't want to purchase it all the time, I find away to make… MORE

Tonight the hub and I got home from work and a quick trip shopping.  We were a bit peckish, so as we were prepping dinner, we broke out the Ruffles.  Hub and I are fans of Helluva Good Onion Dip so we got that out as well.  The hub also pulled out some of our left-over home made… MORE

We got cabbage this week, and it is also 4th of July weekend, so I felt compelled to try my hand at coleslaw.  I was a bit nervous, as I have never, not once, managed to make a coleslaw that tasted good!  Of course, the only kind of coleslaw I like, I admit, comes from KFC.  And,… MORE

I have to admit, I do not know what to do with fennel when I get it.  I like the flavor of licorice in black licorice candy, and in sausage, but not much else.  I am a bit of a purist that way. Nonetheless, last time we got some in the farm box I sportingly followed the instructions… MORE

Do you have a favorite cookbook you've never used for cooking? Mine is called The Art of Chinese Cooking by the Benedictine Sisters of Peking (before it became Beijing again) with illustrations by M. Kuwata. My mom got it decades ago in Japan and I read it cover to cover, again and again, when… MORE

Blogger is still not in the dictionary. I don’t blog is either. I still get a red line under those words when I write in Word. Blogs have been around for years, but I’m just catching on. That’s typical; I usually catch on to trends a few years after they’ve been popular. As you can tell… MORE

Instant noodles may be forever stigmatised as the foodstuff of the cooking-challenged and college students everywhere, but I happen to like it. Just not too much of it, mind you. People have made creative and weird things with it, and at the very least I tend to add veggies of some… MORE
