There is a strong strain of Sicilian in my heritage. That might be why I am a pasta addict! I could never do one of those carb-free diets, pasta and bread are just too important to me. That said, traditional pastas and many breads are not weight-loss friendly. So, once again, I set out to find MORE

Okay boys and girls, this one is a total winner! Quinn found this low-fat Alfredo sauce recipe on BigOven.com. I served it with whole wheat linguine. I bulked it up with some broccoli and added some chopped parsley for flavor. I topped it with some grilled chicken I had rubbed with a combination MORE

Lasagna Day (my practice run for making lasagna for my family on Christmas Eve) is this coming Saturday. I have spent some time on the recipe exchange finding the best recipe and I’ve settled on World’s Best Lasagna. I originally had 6 people coming, so the lasagna would feed 8 in total, but the MORE

With Baby #3 due in February, I am beginning the process of stocking my freezer with ready-made meals for those days/nights when I do not have the energy or time to cook after the baby is born. Or, when I am too big to waddle around my kitchen anymore :). So far I have a few of the basics: pan… MORE

I saw the original Olive Garden recipe and it sounded delicious. Then I started looking a little closer--11/2 cups of flour, a full pound of fettuccine, 5 tbsp of oil, 2 cups of heavy cream, a full cup of cheese. OH MY GOD! As many of you know, Weight Watchers uses a point system to help member MORE

No matter how you pronounce it they are fantastic! The possibilities are also endless just like pizza. This is a great easy meal that takes no time if you go simple on the filling. Growing up in an Italian household we always had cold-cuts on hand and my mom entertained A LOT so we frequently… MORE

One of my family traditions is to have lasagna dinner at my great-aunt’s house on Christmas Eve. She lives alone and has a very small kitchen and a small fridge, so to save on prep time and ingredients that will just go bad, she just buys the frozen kind from M&M. This year, however, she… MORE

Preparing greens for cooking tends to take sometime. So what I do is to do all the prep work on a different day. Very often as soon as I get back from the grocery store. I will clean, chop and blanch all the greens I buy. I mix them together because for now I’m mostly using the greens in soup.… MORE

Now that we are able to share our unpublished recipes, I thought I'd blog one of the simplest. I got tired of buying seasoned bread crumbs - seems I'm always needing them for a recipe (I fry far too often). I've always tossed dry bread into the food processor to make plain bread crumbs.
