A terrific recipe that my mother-in-law gave me. We have enjoyed it as an alternative to the traditional cranberry sauce! She doesn't mind sharing it!

Delightfully fragrant and spicy cranberry chutney. This is a wonderful dish for people who like new and different tastes. It's a nice departure from a traditional cranberry sauce.

Fresh ginger puts the bite on tart cranberries and crisp apples cooked up with onion, celery, raisins, and just enough sugar to keep your lips from puckering.

This colorful chutney is a super side dish or condiment served with pork, ham or poultry. It also makes a nice holiday gift. Writes field editor Marion Lowery of Medford, Oregon. 'My family enjoys the pears, cranberries and tongue-tingling spices in this chutney.'

A chunky chutney like this one makes a great gift for friends and neighbors. I give them the chutney in a decorated jar with a package of cream cheese and a box of crackers. It makes a lovely snack and is just as good alongside a main dish. --Cheryl Lottman Stillwater, Minnesota

Cranberries, chopped apple, golden raisins, and celery are cooked into a sweet and tangy chutney with orange zest and spices. Serve it warm in a pretty sauce bowl on Thanksgiving day, or spoon it over a baked wheel of brie cheese for a festive, elegant appetizer.

This is a delicious condiment full of chunky apples and apricots, zesty ginger, chewy raisins, and, of course, tart cranberries. Wonderful served on either hot or cold turkey.

This tart, zesty chutney may be served at room temperature or chilled. Crystallized ginger is the secret ingredient!

This is a much more lively alternative to plain cranberry sauce and is one of my very favorites. I buy the quinces (membrillos) at a local Mexican grocery store. It is so worth the extra effort!
