Do you believe in ghosts? I'd love it if you would tell me a story because it's a wet and gloomy Halloween Eve in Seattle and I'm in the mood for a good scare. The wind is howling through the dead-leaf trees and my little black cat stalks from room to room letting out mournful yeowls as if to… MORE

Check out this fat, happy squirrel. It's perched on top of a Halloween house I made two years ago. Kind of cute, isn't it? Now imagine being a tiny person inside that gingerbread house. Imagine listening in horror as the giant squirrel gnaws its way through the roof, one piece of candy corn at… MORE

I can't remember a time when I didn't look forward to cooking, baking or watching my  mother, grandmother or older sister in the kitchen.  It just seemed to come natural to me and it's a love that's never faded!  This year, I am probably the happiest cook in the world, as my… MORE

Following the building on of my new kitchen last year we decided to sand and varnish the living room hard wood floor. It has been down for 11 years and was never done before and BADLY needed it. I wish I was as camera snappy as a lot of you guys cos if I was I would have taken a BEFORE picture… MORE

Recently, my thoughts have been wandering around a bit about the concept of family and food.  The typical scene it evokes is the picture of the extend family, including Uncle Billy, sitting around the dining room table while Mom brings out the Thanksgiving turkey.  In my house, the Tha MORE
